Its not often you associate a single wheel with one Million dollars, but news this week of the famous game quiz show “Wheel of Fortune” adding the 7 digit prize to its spinning wheel has do doubt pricked up the ears of the contestants!

Not quite the sort of wheel usually featured on Wheels-Near-U, this one gives competitors who land on it a chance to play for $1 million.

A British Million Pound Wheel of Fortune would be a fantastic idea, and no doubt we may see one in the near future!

First up we have the Disappearing Car Door – excellent in principle but what BMW tried with the Z1 didn’t really work:

Next we go a little acme with a cartoon showing “the future of cars”, a rather comical take on the cars of tomorrow, from yesterday.

Finally we go across the pond to see a crazy American car, owned by the chat show host Jay Leno. This hot rod was built with a drive train you will never have seen. Running a 12 cylinder TANK engine this car is far from average.

From fast downhill mountain biking videos to death defying motorbike stunts.

First up heres a video of a stunt many of you may have seen before, the basic context is a large steel ball which allows a motorbike rider to defy gravity, riding fast enough to keep them on the bike even when upside down. However this stunt contains not 1 motorcyclist stunt man, but 5!

Next up we take to the muddy slopes with a mountain biking video, this one shows some great downhill mountain biking, as recorded by a camera on zip line! Watch out for the dog that enjoys chasing the mountainbikes!

Finally heres another mountainbiking video that shows a vast variety of stunts performed by professional mountain bikers!

Next up we have a BMW advert for a previous M5 model that never made it to television, we don’t know why!

A different stance on the car, this tv ad by greenpeace is a rather harsh look at their opinion of some car owners.

Finally here’s Jeep’s take on snow white, perhaps a reason to keep the sunroof closed, a great car tv ad nether-the-less!

You can see more videos like these in this weeks video collection – Motoring Movie Clips.

First up is the world known car chase from the film Bullitt (1968). Directed by Peter Yates and starring Steve McQueen as ‘Bullitt’, this 9 minute long car chase features a Ford Mustang and a Dodge Charger.

The Fast and the Furious was released in 2001 and featured a whole new type of car scene. With modified cars featuring heavily this blockbuster saw fast paced street racing at full speed.

Mad Max Road Warrior was the second of the Mad Max series, featuring a post-apocalyptic Australian scene where fuel is a currency and vehicles are used as weapons.

With large advertising budgets and engineers around to help, car companies should produce amazing ads – and quite often they do! First up is the Honda Ad that gained a following and apparently took 206 attempts to get right – This clever car ad uses parts of cars to create a video narrative that is addictive to watch! (you can see more videos like this in our Video Collection – click here to view more videos)

Next up is another car ad, this time from Nissan – Entitled ‘Nissan 4×4 Naturally Capable‘. This car ad highlights the Nissan 4×4 range by depicting a range of terrain it is suitable for and then the car changes form to overcome the terrain. A great ad that is always fun to see!

The Citreon C4 is next in this series of car advertisements, with another transforming car – but this time it turns from a car into a ice skating robot! – The second in the series of ad’s in which cars transform into man like robots – in the first ad the car dances! (you can see more videos like this in our Video Collection – click here to view more videos)

Last up we have a car – but made out of cake! Skoda produce a whole new type of car – although I am not to sure its drivable!

But this weeks Videos show some alternatives to your stock tractors, with tuned, solar panelled and film starring machines!

 

First up is a video of a frankly mad tuned tractor, entitled only ‘GSI Engine in a tractor’ – Not the sort of tractor you see everyday, this tractor drives down a track at speeds you would expect from a racing car! – Believed to be German.

 

Next up a Solar Power Converted tractor that makes the news in America – This 1954 Farmall tractor was converted to run off huge solar panels fixed where the roof would usually be, then using a power take-off to run the motor. The tractor remains original but uses absolutely no fuel. This news story describes how this eco-friendly tractor was built and the story behind it and its creator!

 

Finally this week we turn our attention to cinema – This video shows a novel use of the tractor – as a combat tool! The star of this film uses the tractor too disable a group of men riding tractors in order to escape..

Ken Block jumps this black Subaru Impreza rally car 171 feet:

The SSC (Shelby Super Cars) Ultimate Aero TT is far from your average car powered by a 6.3L Twin Turbo V8 (1183 BHP) it can do 0-60 in 2.7 seconds. This video shows it testing top speed in the snow – at which it reached 241 mph at only 71% throttle.

We give you the Ultimate Aero TT:

“By the end of August, SSC is confident and have invited The Guiness Book of World Records to officially record its top speed for the World’s Fastest Production car held by the (Swedish) Koenigsegg CCX’s 242 mph, and surpassing the unofficial (Italian) Bugatti Veyron’s top speed of 253 mph.“
